About Riali Johannesson

Riali was born in Fort Frances, Ontario, then lived in Kenora and Wasaga Beach before leaving home to attend Carleton University in Ottawa.   She has worked as a housemaid, library page, Junior Ranger, golf course attendant, and at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park.  Through high school and university, Riali was a ski instructor and race coach at Snow Valley Ski School.  After receiving her B.A.(Hons.) in English and Law, she attended Queen's University Law School in Kingston.  Riali articled in Toronto at the law firm of Hughes, Amys, then with her criminal law mentor Mary J. Hall.

Riali is Vice-President of the Parry Sound Law Association.  She is an active member of the Criminal Lawyers Association (Women's Committee; Courthouse Rep for Parry Sound and Sundridge) and a senior member of WICCD -- Women in Canadian Criminal Defence, and participates in its mentorship program.


Away from the office, Riali loves to swim, hike, and kayak with her dogs, and is an avid reader of novels and the news.
